Come to Isla Mujeres and swim with the Whale Sharks!
The pick up at your hotel in Isla Mujeres for the snorkeling tour swimming with the whale sharks in isla mujeres Mexico will be between 6:30 am – 7:00 am. We will take you from your hotel to our private marina is and where our boats are docked.
Exact Pick up time is Confirmed the day prior of the tour by mail.
You will be back after the swimming with whale sharks tour from Isla Mujeres by 2:00 pm depending on the weather conditions.
Please note that the return to your hotel is not included for Isla Mujeres tour.
It is important to be aware that in order to find and see the whale sharks we go out to open waters and sometimes it is rough. Most of the time the conditions are very good or perfect and everything goes well but as we all know the sea changes every minute and the conditions are sometimes not that good including rough sea and rain.
When it is too rough or dangerous the port is closed by the Port Master and we never go out in this case but sometimes even when it does not look very good if we are allowed to run the tour we do go out as all the other companies do.
After the excursion swimming with the whale sharks and before going back to the marina we go to the reef in Isla Contoy or Isla Mujeres to snorkel for about 40 minutes.
The spaces per boat are limited, we guarantee 100% availability from May 17th to September 17th if you book online.
In case the weather does not allow us to go on the tour on that day, which is very seldom, we will put it off until another day. If for any reason you can’t participate in the tour we will refund 100% of your payment.

When is the best time to do the whale shark tour?
- The season runs from May 15th to September 17th every year but the really best time is usually between mid-June and mid-August.
Do I need to be a good swimmer?
- You do not need to be a strong swimmer, as you will be wearing a life jacket and our guide will always be next to you. Please do not forget to tell him or her if you do not feel too confident in the water and need extra help.
Do you provide pick up transportation from any hotel?
- We provide the pickup and drop off for the whale shark tour in Mexico from any hotel in Cancun, Puerto Aventuras-Akumal-Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, and Puerto Morelos.
Am I guaranteed to see whale sharks?
- There is no guarantee that you will see whale sharks. Also, there will be no refund of any kind in case we do not see them. It is very rare that we do not see them. It may happen once per season at the most. We always do our best to ensure you have a wonderful time, but sometimes the sea conditions do not allow us to see them.
Can my partner go on the tour and not swim? Do they get a discount?
- Yes, he can go with you, many people just go on the tour to take pictures and enjoy the show but the price is the same for everyone as the spaces on our boats are limited.

- Cancellations made from 45 to 8 days prior to the tour receive 100% of deposit back.
- Cancellations made from 8 to 2 days prior to the tour receive 75 % of deposit back.
- Cancellations made less than 36 hours prior to the tour get no refund but you will get the opportunity to do the tour any other day during the season with no extra charge.
- Cancellations made after midday the day before the tour get no refund at all or opportunity to do it again with no charge.
